About Pastor Tomlinson:

Dwight Tomlinson was born on March 24, 1950. He spent three years in the Army from 1967 to 1970. While in the military, Dwight served two terms in Vietnam with the 75th Ranger Division as a member of a Long-Range Reconnaissance Patrol team. He returned from Vietnam on Christmas Eve, 1969, and was saved in September of 1970 at the Landmark Baptist Church in Watsonville, California.

Dwight Tomlinson and Gayle Innis were married on January 29, 1972 in Sacramento, California. They then moved to Springfield, Missouri to attend the Baptist Bible College. God has blessed the Tomlinsons in many ways. They have established and built three thriving Independent Baptist churches. They had the privilege of beginning the Redwood Baptist Church in Redwood City, California, the Bay Area Baptist Church in Newark, California, and the Bible Baptist Church of Hong Kong, China. All three of these are aggressive, soul-winning, Bible-preaching churches. The Tomlinsons have three daughters and nine grandchildren.

Pastor Tomlinson became the pastor of the Liberty Baptist Church of Irvine, California in September of 1990, at a time when the church was struggling financially and spiritually. In January of 1998, the church relocated to a beautiful new campus in Newport Beach and became debt free.
Pastor Tomlinson is the author of two books entitled Healing the Wounded Church and Healing the Wounded City; and co-authored Sending Forth Laborers with Pastor Paul Chappell of Lancaster Baptist Church.
