Born to a single mother in San Jose, California, Ryan Thompson did not grow up in church. However, in 1988, a life-changing event took place, when his mother’s co-workers invited her and Ryan to attend a church service during a special outreach day at North Valley Baptist Church.

They accepted the invitation and visited, where Ryan heard the Gospel and accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior on that very same day. Little did he know, the man who was preaching on that Sunday morning would become his father-in-law years later.

In the year 2000, Ryan married his high school sweetheart, Tiffany Trieber. Following graduation from Bible college, Ryan served for 15 years as the Administrative Pastor of his home church in Northern California, a large ministry that averages more than 2,500 in attendance every Sunday and the same church where he came to know Jesus as his Savior many years ago.

In 2015, the Thompsons followed God’s leading to assume to pastorate of Liberty Baptist Church in Orange County. Today, they are blessed to call Liberty their home and continue to forward our mission of serving our community and spreading the Gospel in Orange County and around the world. Ryan and Tiffany are the grateful parents of five children.

From the beginning in 1970, Liberty Baptist Church has embraced various leaders, locations, and cultures but has never wavered in its purpose to bring the Gospel to Orange County. As Pastor Ryan Thompson leads a new generation of Liberty that is larger than it’s ever been, we continue to go into the world as missionaries with passionate convictions as Christ-followers who bear His name.
